Are You Ready for Wilson Mooney, Eighteen at Last?

I just want to know…are you ready for Wilson Mooney, Eighteen at Last?

Fractured as Wilson’s life has been before Max, she’s always found a way to adhere to her morals. Solvent as Max’s life has always been, he's never let anything sway his feelings for her. What if Wilson’s unbridled passion and inexperience makes her blind to his flaws? When past events come back to haunt Max, Wilson just might have to make a choice that is selfish and immature. Will Max be able to keep the promise he made to Wilson a month before her eighteenth birthday, or will choosing Wilson destroy his world?

Butterflies are going to soar and guts will twist in the winter of 2012.

I Exercised With Max

Okay, a little update about Wilson Mooney, 18 at Last; so you just don’t think I’ve totally forgotten about my loyal readers (who are waiting so patiently for Wilson Mooney, 18 at Last). Some of you may know I’ve been tied up with life happening around me. And for some reason, life has decided to happen more than I expected.

BUT, I can honestly say, I believe I am 3/4 of the way through writing the book. In being 3/4 of the way through…I’ve found myself trying to understand how Max really feels about things. And by things, I mean…Wilson, sex, relationships, his job, her education, friends, family, and well, basically everything that is going on in his life.

It’s easy to see and learn about Wilson, she is the one telling the story. But for Max, getting him to come across the way I want him to, seemed to be a bit of a job. Is he pensive, happy, lustful, excited, mad, scared or downright moody? Does he come across too weak, too strong, or not caring enough?

Long story short, I did a little exercise yesterday and wrote a very small (back-story) scene from Max’s perspective. I wanted to see if I could write what I thought was in Max’s head. It gave me some clarity; I could see where I needed to tighten up his character and where I totally connected with him. Suddenly, I could feel him and who he was.

Maybe someday, when the second book is published, I will post some of my back-story creative writing; but until then, thank you for being patient and waiting for Wilson Mooney, Eighteen at Last!

Okay, I don't foresee a laundry mat scene between Max and Wilson~but it's still all good!
